Install the app
Put ShelfChronicles on your home screen like an app, on an iPhone, an iPad, Android or a computer. A native app is planned but not available yet.
On an iPhone or iPad
On an iPhone or an iPad, use Safari:
If Add to Home Screen is not in the list, scroll to the end of it and tap Edit Actions to add it.
On recent versions of iOS, other browsers such as Chrome and Edge offer Add to Home Screen from their own Share button too.
Adding ShelfChronicles to the home screen of an iPhone, in three steps
Open ShelfChronicles in Safari and tap Share, the square with an arrow pointing up (at the bottom on an iPhone, at the top on an iPad).
Scroll down the list, tap Add to Home Screen, then Add.
ShelfChronicles is on your home screen. Tap it to open.
On Android
On Android, use Chrome:
If Chrome allows it, the Install button in ShelfChronicles does the same in one tap, without the menu.
Other browsers, such as Samsung Internet and Edge, have the same option in their menu.
Installing ShelfChronicles on an Android phone, in three steps
Open ShelfChronicles in Chrome and tap the menu, the three dots at the top right.
Tap Install app, or Add to Home screen and then Install. The words depend on the phone.
ShelfChronicles is on your home screen and with your apps. Press and hold it for shortcuts.
On a computer
On a computer, Chrome and Edge can install ShelfChronicles as an app with a window of its own:
No icon in the address bar? Look for Install ShelfChronicles in the browser's menu. On a Mac, Safari does the same from File > Add to Dock.
Installing ShelfChronicles on a computer, in two steps
Click the install icon at the right end of the address bar, then Install.
ShelfChronicles opens in its own window, with a place in your dock, taskbar or Start menu.
An app of its own
A native ShelfChronicles app for iPhone and Android is planned, but not available yet. Until then, the home-screen version above is how to have ShelfChronicles on your phone.
Once ShelfChronicles is on your home screen, More stops offering Add to your phone, and Settings stops offering Install the app.
